I know some people who don’t have kids who regret it. But they are people who wanted kids but never had them for various reasons. The people in my life who didn’t want kids and chose not to seem content with their choice. At least at that age. My partner and I are both late 30s. We’ve never wanted kids, and I don’t think either of us regret this decision at all. The only people who regret not having kids are the ones who always wanted to but didn’t. I have yet to meet anyone regret their choice of not having children. The inverse however…. Mid thirties, child free by choice and that will never change. No regrets. In fact it’s probably the most mature and best decision I’ve made in my life. Also, imagine the other way around. Say you HAVE kids and then come to regret THAT decision?! Ugh what a nightmare. I would a 1000 times rather regret not doing it than ever regret doing it.

Mom-life is just not for me. We are missing to late 40s, have been together over 25 years and super happy to be child free! Hardly a day goes by in which we don’t think how extremely lucky we are to have made that decision early enough. I’d really be curious if childfree people have any significand belongings like properties, family businesses etc. I have a house that I inherited and work on updating, it would be really sad to do all this work for nothing. Nope. Not for a single moment. Never felt the fever and I don’t feel I am missing out. I like my spare time and what little spare income I have. My partner and I are free to pretty much do what we like, with our pets as an exception of course. I was pregnant once, I did terminate. That was almost 15 years ago. I’m glad I made the decision and although it’s weird to think I could have a high schooler now, I feel no pangs of regret. If I woke up tomorrow back in time I wouldn’t change my decision. Partner feels 100% the same.
