Don’t try to change your personality. Unless you are an amazing actor, you’ll come across as phony or you’ll stumble and come across as inconsistent or having trouble communicating. At least, that’s what happened to me when I tried it. Besides, bubbly is good – much better than introverted or sour. It can be valuable in some occupations. If the George Pickens The V1LL4N Watercolor Basketball Shirt in other words I will buy this corporate culture frowns upon bubbly, it might not be such a great place to work after all. Maybe open your dialogue with your enthusiasm for the company mission (and other tidbits that indicate that you have researched the company) and leave out the personal references. Even if you are genuine, some interviewers are skeptics and think you are faking it. Record yourself on camera while you’re answering typical interview questions. Most people create a fake persona for interviews, they put on a professional, mature face so to speak. I would just take it down a notch, turn the George Pickens The V1LL4N Watercolor Basketball Shirt in other words I will buy this bubbles down to a 5 instead of a 10. Save the story for another time. (I’ve worked in HR and have done interviewing in my last 2 jobs). Fellow bubbly person here! This is weird. People are fascinating. I know you asked for feedback but it’s funny he thinks he is perfect and without flaws. I suspect this person was more on the serious side and they don’t connect with feelings of excitement. I work on a 5 person team and I always know going into meetings with my boss will wake up my brain. She is bubbly like me. Going into meetings with my other colleagues on my team sometimes drain me a tad. They don’t emote a ton. Sometimes but rarely. I’ve learned to be okay with that. But I never would fault someone for being too enthusiastic. I suspect this person who told you this is one of those people who get annoyed easily and is a nitpicker. Like just the sound of someone too excited might annoyed them. Years ago I had an admin job and I will never forget picking up the phone one day and an older man told me to “lay off the caffeine” and I told him “I didn’t have any, don’t be rude”… LOL it felt great. I love calling out people like this.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
