I’m jealous of all of you who CAN lock your cats out of the bedroom when mine were kittens they sure loved that 3am zoomie time but if I tried to close them out of the room one of them (the boy) would hurl himself at the door over and over again full force until I would open the door. I was in a very small apartment at the time and my bed was against the wall he would throw himself at. I just got used to the shenanigans and now they’re 3 years old and just want to sleep lol Nah, dont feel bad. I put my cat outta my room just about every night bc she thinks my legs under the covers are just big toys.

We just moved into an open loft and learned my cat screams all night. Never heard it through the Funny you will never see america crap we don’t run problem veteran usa flag shirt it is in the first place but cracked door in my old apartment. Now we hear everything… all night. I have to say no but I also have had to compromise that the cats aren’t allowed in my bedroom bc of my partner. I love them both& so I told him to keep them chillin they can come in once q week or so but just to check out the room Not at all. I have a whole clouders of cats (mom cat had a litter) and sometimes we get to boxing at 3 am be a use they can’t chill. Or sit by your face swatting it every 2 minutes. Our first cat was a tiny little Devon Rex named Roswell. He has slept in bed with us from the night my husband brought him home on the east coast all the way from Texas. Roswell would have zoomies all night so we would try closing him out of our bedroom but he would just cry and scream incessantly until we gave up on trying to sleep and either got up to play with him or let him back into the bedroom to zoom. Additionally he is quite mischievous so we were conferenced he would get himself into trouble being unsupervised and locked out of the bedroom, particularly when he was a kitten. We found the best thing was to play with him right before bed time, usually with a feather wand or a mouse on a wand type of toy for a bit and then feed him. Once we started doing that we stopped having zoom issues at night and he would curl up in bed ad largely sleep though the night with us. Apparently playing and then feeding activities their natural hunt kill eat sleep cycle and helps them settle down and get to bed. We did the same with our second kitten Dybbuk at first and it seemed to help as well, plus he follows Roswell’s lead. Once Roswell started getting older we didn’t need to do the play then eat routine before bed anymore. Now he just knows when it’s bed time and either herds is to the bedroom if we are up too long past bedtime or gets right in bed with us once we settle in.
