They just renewed their contract with Baltimore (case study I’m basing this on) Our family car was stolen in the west suburbs last year and found in North Minneapolis a month later, everything we heard from the police agencies that we talked to, was that they know who stole it, that it’s a group of teenagers that have stolen dozens of cars, but that they just don’t have the resources to monitor them, so it’s great to see that they actually had a sophisticated surveillance system in place that could help stop the rampant crime in the metro area. I’m genuinely curious, do you think it would be dangerous to be a whistleblower if your department was doing very shady things? If I were in a position I’d likely wanna let everyone know, but actually doing it I’d probably feel scared (probably cause I’m not an officer and I don’t know what actual risks are there if any at all… in which case if there isn’t any risk then wtf ? I guess the whole thing would truly be rotten to the core if so).
