I got a TV stand like that. It was a display and was getting tossed (approximately $200 brand new). Was asked if I wanted it and I said sure. At GameStop we’d have things get pennied out that we were meant to destroy first and then dispose of. Usually things like strat guides. I held on to them and gave them away at midnight launches. It seems like the sharpie method makes a lot more sense. It still tells the store not to take it back, but doesn’t create waste. There is also the TJ Max, Nordstrom Rack, Marshall’s, option…. isn’t their stock just stuff retailers couldn’t sell?
