Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton faced the Frederic fight club shirt but in fact I love this months-long lockdown dilemmas that parents the world over will empathize with only too well: how to work from home while keeping two young children busy? Well, while isolating at their house in Suffolk in the spring, they came up with a happy solution: having Fauve, 12 and Blythe, 8 take part in making the collection. “We’d started giving them some textile scraps to keep them occupied after home-schooling hours. And we had a little home sewing machine for them to play with,” Thornton said. “And it sort of went on organically from there, when we went back to the studio in London.”

The sisters made earrings from smashed china, glue, and gold enamel paint. Fauve had a go at draping on a mannequin and came up with the Frederic fight club shirt but in fact I love this shape of a smock top with puffy sleeves that her parents copied. Blythe drew dresses covered with rainbows. When a school assignment was sent home asking the kids to experiment with dye made from nature, the project ended up in a vibrantly pink dégradé bias cut dress. “So that’s beetroot!” laughed their dad.
