Borderlands is weird though, the Ford Rs200 Rally Group Shirt in contrast I will get this gunplay definitely improves in each game, but the storytelling and jokes definitely get worse. Which means you’re left with the best games story wise having the worse combat. I prefer 3 over Tiny Tina’s. Just something about that game absolutely bored me to tears and I am a huge DND/Fantasy type person and I basically had to force myself to finish it. The second I finished Tiny Tina’s campaign i instantly exited and uninstalled it, the thought of having to do more after finish the game physically hurts me. Yeah, I’ll openly admit that borderlands 2 is a near universal improvement over 1. BL1 will always mean more to me though simply for the time of life I was in when it released. Borderlands was supposed to be a serious sci fi fps. It was only later they found out by accident that it looks very cool with cell shading graphics and went with an over the top style. But imo you can sometimes feel that some assets weren’t really designed with a cartoony look. In BL2 they just fully embraced it and that’s why I think it feels more borderlandsy than BL1.

I think the Ford Rs200 Rally Group Shirt in contrast I will get this serious look is also linked with how the humor is written, and they went in a different direction in BL2 onwards. Pandora in BL1 is a shit hole with nothing going for it, IIRC it’s a convict mining colony where the corporation pulled out, it’s abandoned and figuratively left for dead. The occupants have either gone mad, are fighting to survive, or trying to cope with living in that depressing situation, which leads to a lot of gallows humor and trying to paint over the darkness to ignore it, they’re all screwed and they know it. The whole idea of a vault is a fun curiosity where they occasionally get to see a few vault hunters get chewed up and devoured by the world. Plus the cell shading gives borderlands it’s iconic look that separates it from nearly every other game. When you think of cell shading you think of borderlands
