I grew up in a home where I have no memories with my parents living together. Kids can’t be split, only their time. I don’t know if I can ever trust someone enough to have such a commitment that having kids with them would be. And now that another decade has passed, I don’t know if I would want to start having kids at 40. Bonus reason: Compared to my siblings that have kids, I have been able to buy lots more toys and fun things and not go into debt buying them. Because I’d feel guilty about raising a child that would get a worse quality of life than I did. For context, I’m basically following a similar career path as my dad but the opportunities and cost of living are so much worse. Overpopulation. I think I would be a good dad, but every single enviromental problem you can think of can be ratified down to one single issue; we are too many people. (I hope ratified is the right word) there is allways the adoption possibility, but I fear I’m too old for that now.

Growing up I never thought having kids was a default, like I assumed maybe 1 in every 5 people had kids or something.
