The union waited until a big delivery was being shipped out. The company in question was a cement supplier. They loaded up 17 cement trucks for the Fight Cancer In All Colors Butterfly shirt moreover I will buy this delivery, and then called the strike (purposely timing it for that moment). Cement only lasts for two to three hours in those trucks before it has to be poured, or it starts to harden and it’s useless. Some drivers just parked the trucks and walked away, and others phoned it in and said they were leaving the trucks. If the company didn’t get the cement out, all the trucks would have been totaled. They also couldn’t just dump the cement out, because its against environmental regulations. They ended up pouring the cement out into make-shift bunkers, where it hardened. The SCOTUS decision doesn’t say what the value of the cement was, but 17 trucks’ worth must have been close to $250k, give or take.

Since 1999, it has been held to be illegal to do something like this….by the Fight Cancer In All Colors Butterfly shirt moreover I will buy this National Labor Relations Board. That is the NLRB, which is the federal government, and the union-side bouncer for the entire National Labor Relations Act. They are the most employer-unfriendly administrative agency in the United States. Their job is to protect the unions. It is illegal for “employees [to] fail to take reasonable precautions to protect the employer’s plant, equipment, or products from foreseeable imminent danger due to sudden cessation of work.” It would be like working for a dining hall, putting all the food in the ovens, and walking off the job right as everything was about to be cooked. You can’t do that. You have to call the strike beforehand.
