Strength of charecter! It doesn’t matter if a black women is pretty or ugly, skinny or bigger, short or tall etc. They stand up for themselves and don’t let themselves be disrespected. My son left home at 18 for college. He moved to a major city and learned to fend for himself. That sounds positive, but it implies a lot of negativity. I’d say it boils down to being independent, but for those women who don’t want what that ideology entails, that’s something that may still be thrust on them. It’s a matter of socially removing choice or socially shaping the way you can exist. Making it so that even existing outside of that ‘others’ you. You didn’t ask for negative stereotypes because that would be racist, right? But how can it be possible to support one set of stereotypes while rejecting another? Positive or negative, it’s still racism. Any stereotype is saying “these people all share this one characteristic”. What characteritic would you attribute to white people? Racism is attributing a set of cultural characteristics to a race. Racism cannot be overcome until all stereotypes – positive as well as negative – are rejected. Not all black people have an innate sense of rhythm or can sing or can cook soul food. Those are just stereotypes perpetuated by white American movie producers.

Black people are no different from anyone else. There are very successful black women who are accountants and scientists and lawyers and doctors and teachers and journalists. And none of those professions require skills in singing, dancing or cooking. Self assured, independent, strong? Maybe I could see how someone could flip these negatively but I think they’re positive things Wholesome. Family orientated , great cooks. Great wives and mothers , community focused, driven , fun, wise and beautiful. On a stage they are really quite educated. You’ll find a Black pharmacist woman who also has a MBA, MPH and a Master’s in theater. It’s kinda crazy. That could be considered a negative – or it could also be considered a sign of boldness, confidence and standing up for truth, standing up to power. So it all depends on how you interpret it. Not this thread about to make me cry lol i rarely see positive things about black women this is so refreshing 🥹 They know what they want and they will actively go after it. So they don’t generally conform to societal standards in pursing romantic interests. As in they will actually be up front about things and directly approach men significantly more often then white women.
