I always engage in conversation with the people who are helping me. I guess it depends but after a certain amount of customers in retail, Satan himself could ask how you’re doing and you wouldn’t notice. That being said, if you are friendly and nice, that’s all you need to be. 🙂 Im kind of an extroverted goofball so stuff like that makes me laugh and makes my day. Would I tip more? Possibly. I would rather tip a person doing this than a long letter about lifes woes.

Same I was a server for years so I have an urge to be social and it does make me miss serving and having regulars in to eat and chat. I wouldn’t necessarily think you’re trying to get a bigger tip (maybe I’m gullible, but I normally top 20% minimum on my deliveries anyway. It would just say my name, “Enjoy your meal, and thank you!” In smaller font I would have at the bottom “If you were happy with the service and want to let me know, please leave me a 5-star review! Have a great day!”
