It’s funny because all of these answers are exactly what my one friend used to say back when she was still living as a boy in high school. Think about it this way as one opinion. If you are putting a large amount of time into a game, wouldn’t you create a character that are happy looking at? Another reason is because a lot of games have better customization for female characters and or better looking armors. For fighting games specifically I play a lot of female characters because they are fast. They fit my playstyle and are fun to use. DOA and MK I play several male characters such as Hayabusa, Reptile, Smoke, & Hayate. It all depends on which characters are the most fun to play. Setting aside the sex appeal answers some are giving, men in general get to see male characters in media a lot. Especially video games, which are still a male-targeted demographic in many ways. So there’s more “novelty” in playing as a female character; and that novelty wouldn’t exist, I don’t think, for female players deciding to play as male avatars.

For sure it’s a little that looking at a female character model and listening to a female voice is usually more pleasant… However, it’s also definitely (for me) a little that even though I’m fully straight and male presenting, I’m definitely for sure pretty closeted gender confused… fluid… non-binary… I don’t know what to call it… It’s completely secret, and I’ve never told a soul or have any hint of it outwardly, but ever since I was a little kid I knew I felt more like a girl inside, I’m very very in touch with my feminine side, it makes me want to be pretty and small and girly, wear pretty clothes and jewelry and make up… but I can’t and I never will be any of that so this is the Farm Aid 2023 Sun Farmer Noblesville Indiana Shirt Also,I will get this closest I can get sometimes to representing that voice that’s screaming inside.
