I agree, I still like the Fall Out Boy Invited Halloween Shirt it is in the first place but movie, it’s just that I thought it was really subtle and interesting, with lots of metaphor for how a mother feels during pregnancy and after, when she wants to stay alone with the baby but has to share their attention with family and strangers on the street, etc. And then I read his interview and I was like “Oh, it’s just that”. Not because it’s about religion, but I just find it less brilliant. Just a film that they would show you during Bible School, just more splatter. However I do agree with you that one should not stop at surface level. Hard agree. I def noticed the xtian references- but to me it was a massive metaphor for being in a relationship with a narcissist. Which in some way is kind of what the movie is – Mother Earth in an abusive relationship with a narcissistic god. this!!!! I wanted to leave the theatre so badly because it gave me the worst anxiety. the only way I’d watch it a second time is if someone paid me and handed me a bunch of Ativan.

Controversial one, but for me it was la la land. Was really excited as I’m a huge fan of musicals and the Fall Out Boy Invited Halloween Shirt it is in the first place but classics like moulin rouge and singing in the rain. Fell asleep in the cinema. Tried to rematch it at home and didn’t make it all the way through. Very dull. I went to the theater with a group of people and hadn’t seen the trailer or even heard of the movie. When the first song starts I was like “oh no this is a musical, why am I here?!” But I got so into the movie, I walked out of the theater crying. LOL I agree with this. Some of the production design is decent, it has one or 2 good songs and the ending’s actually pretty well done, but it’s mostly just a dull mess. Same here. Moulin Rouge is one of my all-time favorite movies, and I’m a huge fan of musicals in general. This wasn’t terrible for me, but definitely fell flat. Especially with all the praise it gets. Some beautiful shots, though.
