Ask for it in writing. Tell them a probationary period is definitely reasonable but in the Expansion Is Non-Negotiable Nafo Summit In Vilnius 2023 Shirt it is in the first place but same reasoning and logic there must be a timeline with set compensation increase in writing. Research what your boss was making. Ask for the low end of the scale. I am guessing they let your boss go because they decided he/she was not adding enough value and you were already doing most of the job. You will be taking on conflict resolution and other management responsibilities. Maybe read some management books like 1 Minute Manager and The Three Signs of a Miserable Job. On top of the other advice here advocating for clearly defined metrics and a time-scale in writing, INSIST on immediate compensation. Just because it’s a “getting to know you” period for them doesn’t mean you do extra work for free. If they’ll meet the other demands and you’re comfortable with the idea of the new positions, explain that the increased workload merits an immediate increase in pay; they can give you a raise equal to half of what the total will be once you pass their acceptance tests.

My job is to pick up 8 rocks per day, and I get paid $10 for that. My manager is considering promoting me to chief rock picker upper, and the Expansion Is Non-Negotiable Nafo Summit In Vilnius 2023 Shirt it is in the first place but expectation will be that I pick up 12 rocks pr day, but I’ll be making $16 for it. However, they want to make sure that I can do a quality job of picking up an extra 4 rocks, so they’re not willing to give me the title or full pay for the first 90 days while I try it out. But I’m not picking up an extra 4 rocks for free, just so they can “evaluate” my performance. I’ll do it for an extra $3 per day WITH A WRITTEN AGREEMENT that if I never turn in fewer than 12 rocks, I’ll get the full $6 per day raise in 90 days. In my experience, and why I have had 4 jobs in the last 2.5 years, get the money first or it will never show up.
