Having been married for many years, if I go out without my husband looking super pretty, it’s entirely for groups of people I’m not into: other women, and gay men. I love showing off how cute I can be when I get dolled up, how well I did at finding shoes that match my dress perfectly, but it’s not about sexual attraction at all. You’re correct. That is a large problem in communication between men and women in general. Rejecting and accepting rejection gracefully could go a long way to solve that. We know that women do, in fact, sometimes, dress up to be attractive and meet a guy. The problem is, not all women and not all the time. So being told by women that they never do that seems…disingenuous. Yes sometimes women dress up to meet a guy, or because she has a new outfit or because it’s Tuesday. Having to mange the insecurities of men is a ridiculous thing to put on a person. Makes you realize how untrustworthy men are if they think you can’t wear a skirt unless you’re a ho.
