Seriously tho, this. I just never seem to get lucky with fits when trying stuff on at a retail store and end up just stressing myself out. At second hand shops, I can literally grab a whole rack in my size to try on with various shapes, lengths and cuts and surprise myself with what ends up looking good on me. Note- am retired and wear athleisure (aka leggings and tshirts/hoodies lol) 95% of the time) My exact current combo. I go into hibernation in the winter so those are my cozy clothes. But I did just get bike shorts and linen pants from Costco so I might not be too classy this summer. Maybe if Target got their act together I’d start getting clothes from there again. Costco hasn’t let me down a single time.

I have this incredible sherpa half-zip that I get compliments on every time I wear it. It was fifteen bucks at Costco ? I wear an embarrassing amount of Madewell and a fair amount of leftovers from my decade working for Free People. i basically only have madewell pants and jeans in rotation at this point because i can buy them secondhand online and know they’ll fit and are affordable Same but I worked at Urban Outfitters then Madewell! Don’t have a lot of my UO stuff left, but all of my Madewell is still kickin almost 10 years later! tbf Madewell is pretty great and really suits my style, but they feel really overexposed at this point. Like they’ve lost their oomph? Honestly, I think it just shows we just need more companies like Madewell that still cater to a millennial/30’s demographic. I feel too old now for what I see in a lot of stores, but Madewell has stayed consistent in a good way for me. Do you feel like madewell has consistently good quality? I’ve had a ton of issues with their clothes. For comparison I also shop at Target, their universal thread line seems to be a made well knock off, but I never have issues with that stuff. 0 complaints for me! I am very hard on my clothes and the only issues I’ve had is with the whisper v neck t – they changed the cut and fabric a few years ago and it just shredded a few washes in. Otherwise I’ve had a lot of success with their stuff
