As an european: The importance given to high school/college sports (they’re nonexistent here), the Enrique Hernandez Los Angeles D Profile Puerto Rican professional baseball T-Shirt moreover I love this prevalence of fast food, the “grind” work mindset, the sense of nationalism (pledging to the flag on schools would be seen as a dystopia here) come to mind. And the obsession with race. We’d call that american culture period. No “white” or “Black” or whatever, just american. I don’t think any honest person would deny that there is racism in Europe, but the topic of race is not in people’s consciousness and is not a subject of public debate as much as it is in America. That’s understandable given the history of America, it’s not an impugnation against Americans. Americans will constantly point out whether they’re white, black, 10% italian or whatever heritage they have. Outside of america most people doesn’t do that.

Racism is absolutely an issue everywhere in the Enrique Hernandez Los Angeles D Profile Puerto Rican professional baseball T-Shirt moreover I love this world, but you won’t see an italian claiming they are 5% german and 20% dutch. That’s nationality not race. You’re right that european-born Europeans dont relate to this. However, the US is huge and we are almost all recently from somewhere else so it is germane and it differentiates us. Everything that is “normal” and “non-culture” in America is probably white culture… everything people over look. I’d argue that white culture is the canvas that all other cultures stand out against. Mainly bc there’s a history of white Americans mocking or looking down on other cultures, mostly in pop culture as a joke. So it’s only natural for other cultures to be like THESE motherfuckers think WE’RE weird? I’m white so I get it. It’s all relative, we’re weird to them. That’s why Indian/asian people stare at me like I’m an alien
