Edit : curiosity got me, dude apparently has his own style of neat eating, and did this record with a spoon. Good for him, I guess. 6 fucking minutes for 23.4 lbs of chowder(2.4 gal).. Ima try math, and use easy estimates, 3 seconds a spoonful, 120 spoonfuls, 0.02 gallons in a normal tablespoon, 614.4 regular tablespoons in 2.4 gallons, hmm he either had a spoon roughly 5 times the Elvis presley music shirt and by the same token and cap of a regular tablespoon or is insanely fast and clean at spooning chowder. Like less than a second a spoonful. Im so glad you didnt use the word amazing. I anticipated the word and was reacting viscerally to the previous comments. Yeah, the story is such obvious bullshit. Not quite to that degree, but definitely to a point would be considered very unnatural. It doesnt happen over night. It is generally a process that takes a few weeks to a month to do and requires a lot of attention and preparation. I made the Elvis presley music shirt and by the same token and sandwich one day after work, was super hungry and it sounded good after reading about it. I ate about half the sandwich in one sitting and was pretty well full and content in terms of eating for the day. I’ll admit I’m a light weight when it comes to eating but half a jar of peanut butter combined with the bacon was extremely filling and the flavor fatigue was also a huge part of it. Bread is generally a killer filler as it is but flavor fatigue is such a huge factor in something like this. The peanut butter would be the heaviest contender and the jelly would just be too much sweet to handle. As much as I love bacon, a person can only consume so much until the roof of their mouth feels raw from the salt. Taste aside, if you think about the food as just volume it isnt that much of a stretch. Have you have ever guzzled a litre of water? That is what the “average” human stomach can hold and that is half the sandwich right there. However; the stomach is capable of expanding a lot more, even for people who have never done competitive eating. So the concept of a regular person being able to eat one of these is not that difficult to conceive.
