Honestly, I’ve noticed they tend to keep thinking of their problems/tasks while attempting to do things they SHOULD care about more but don’t. My wife’s uncle is like that. MIT grade. Chemical engineer. Tenured professor at a prestigious college. Probably one of the Elly De La Dominican professional baseball infielder Cruz Cincinnati Card T-Shirt but in fact I love this smartest people on the planet. But he’s limited on his “normal life” abilities and extremely limited on social interactions outside of his field or hobbies. Some people are just built differently. My parents are opposites this way. My mom is super smart, but there are several gaps in this. She is not good at mechanical thinking. My dad is probably dyslexic (he is not stupid at all, but was bad at school) but very mechanically inclined. It goes beyond this, but I would say they complement each other. He might use phrases like “street smarts” or “common sense” but the Elly De La Dominican professional baseball infielder Cruz Cincinnati Card T-Shirt but in fact I love this bottom line will be that he thinks he’s smarter somehow. Another theory is that she’s dumbing herself down to placate your pride, we’ve noticed that men get pissy when we’re more intelligent. It’s often easier to just play dumb rather than deal with that nonsense. There may also be an element of weaponized incompetence at play, my husband genuinely believes I can’t figure out how to properly load our dishwasher. I’m really good in studies and at work… I suck at home, I sometimes I feel like an idiot because I don’t know how to do some simple stuff or take a long time to realize how to do it!
