Purple. Colorado and Monument Valley will stun. You’ll also be in striking distance of Zion when you get to Vegas. One other modification – if you can bounce over to the E.J. Liddell American professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans T-Shirt besides I will buy this 101 on your way north to SF, way more scenic and less smelly than I-5; lots of nice charming towns up and down the route. The western part of Texas is a drag. About 8-10 hours of flatlands and desert west of Dallas until you hit NM. You’d be able to stop at Big Tex in Amarillo and try the 72oz steak challenge. You’ll also be able to stop by Palo Verde canyon. Once in NM, Santa Fe is nice. The sopillas and Santa Fe style Mexican food is great. There’s also the national park over there. Though, it’s a cold desert environment vs the hot desert environment of southern Arizona.

Heading into Flagstaff is beautiful and you could do a slight detour north to the E.J. Liddell American professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans T-Shirt besides I will buy this Grand Canyon or make a nice trip down to Sedona for the red rocks. Sedona is one of our favorite spots to go due to the natural beauty. Flagstaff is also one of the few places where you can see the stars in the night sky clearly due to their light pollution laws. Really depends on the weather but I’d run down into TX. The desert is beautiful. Just keep in mind how bad the nid west cold can get. The western-midwest section is a great drive. Especially easy for first time road trippers. Beautiful rolling hills, amazing vast desert, and you only hit traffic a few times! You might even be the only one on the road in states like WY & NV. Youll also catch great mountain views on this route, and there are some amazing little cafes to stop off at. I recommend joining some old people for a smoke break, ask them where to go! You might find your own secret spot along the way. Theres lots of stop off points along the way and theres only a couple large stretches where you have to watch your gas. I did this trip in a little over a week, and I had a great time. I especially recommend if heading west-stopping off Exit 1 off I-80 in NV. Cheap ass rooms views mountain views right off the highway (Casino). We did this on a HUGE budget and even managed to survive those CA gas prices.
