It’s just the Dwight Yoakam Dynamic American country singer-songwriter actor and filmmaker T-Shirt and I will buy this idea of sitting and reading a book. I think my brain sees it as me having to sit down and stop distracting myself from what is going on around me (very bad things). I think that is the problem. Then I can’t focus on things or books or anything. I will try and read though, thank you I have read many books, when I was a child I would devour a big book in two days. As I’ve grown older, bad mental health has taken its toll on my mind and attention span. I’d love to be able to just devour books again. I’m not sure if it was you who downvoted me, but to the person that did downvote me: you never know what a person is going through, the pain they are currently enduring. Maybe consider that next time you judge someone.

No, I didn’t downvote you at all, I was just curious, mostly because I find sometimes I struggle to understand when I read vs when I watch a film/show about something (I can’t always paint a picture in my head from words on a page. I was addressing the Dwight Yoakam Dynamic American country singer-songwriter actor and filmmaker T-Shirt and I will buy this person who downvoted me, wasn’t sure if it was you or not so I sent out a message to whoever it was. When I say I don’t read I mean I don’t read books. I read three or four past year and before I didn’t read many books at all. I don’t know how to get out of the short attention span mindspace I’m in because I would love to be able to concentrate on a book again. My SO doesn’t like to read but loves listening to books as he’s driving around. He’s gone through entire series that way. I can’t keep my attention on listening so reading is better for me. But maybe listening would work for you. I can totally understand, I get distracted all the time (the joys of having 4 small kids I suppose ) but it means that me taking in the information isn’t actually happening so I struggle when reading these days even though I love it.
