My idea of an “expedition” is to leave my house at 1am, leave Timberline Lodge at 3am, summit Mt Hood at around 10 or 11am and be back home in Portland by 5pm. It’s a full day and you’ll know you’ve been in a fight, but it’s also a lot of fun and relatively low-risk provided you know what you’re doing and don’t do anything stupid. Also, remember conditions are extremely changeable. When you see a picture it looks like they are resting. But they could have been in one of Everest’s infamous blizzards. They could have been basically blind and curled up. Hypothermia makes you feel so tired too! You do feel like your body needs to stop when in fact it makes it worse. What about when there are queues on the Dwight Yoakam American country singer-songwriter actor and filmmaker Brilliant Ballads T-Shirt Besides,I will do this mountain? We’ve all seen those photos of all the climbers stretched out down the hill waiting their turn to go through some pinch point? How are they keeping warm? … And for some, they may have been suffering from cerebral or pulmonary edema as well, the collection of fluid in your skull or your lungs due to low atmospheric pressure at high elevation. 8000+ metres known as the death zone – not just because climbers are at risk of dying from accidents or hypothermia, but mainly because their bodies are actually dying. Oxygen deprivation causes organs to go into survival mode and will eventually fail if the climber stays in the zone for too long. Here I was thinking I’d die of old age/natural causes, today I learned we’ll all die of hyperthermia, dehydration and oxygen deprivation… Bummer.

Cerebral edema (this can also cause hallucinations which cause them to remove their warm clothing and thus freeze to death) Sometimes they get lost in a blizzard, get disoriented and can’t find their way back to the Dwight Yoakam American country singer-songwriter actor and filmmaker Brilliant Ballads T-Shirt Besides,I will do this tent even if it’s just a few steps away. This is really informative, and I’ll have to check our your recommendation! I know you added the disclaimer of “not comprehensive” so this is in no way to correct you, because I had forgotten about the non-laymen cerebral edema (brain swelling). I live fairly far north, and remember learning in one of my first aid courses about “paradoxal undressing” and was taught that essentially, your “internal thermostat” stops working (cerebral edema) – and then the victim suddenly feels hot and begins undressing.
