I can tell that people expect me to be what is considered to be a stereotypical black woman when I approach them (receptionists, customer service etc.). Then it’s as if they let their shoulders down and relax when they realize that I’m really quiet and shy. Never get into a game of “the Duke Blue Devils Tackle Breast Cancer Pink Out 2024 Shirt but in fact I love this dozens” with a black woman. No matter how smart you think your comeback is, she has something utterly, utterly, witheringly devastating loaded up and ready to drop on you with impeccable timing. And it doesn’t matter what the topic is. Men, cars, shopping, 18th century Victorian porcelain thimbles. She will crush you like a sad little styrofoam cup. I dunno if it’s a stereotype, but I feel reassured if a black woman is in charge. I figure she won’t take any shit, and will be straightforward and keep things moving. I experienced the same thing at my last job, our manager was a black woman who later got promoted and replaced with a white man lol. While she was our manager the vibe was solid. The place felt safe, I didn’t feel belittled by the people we served. She brought an air of respect to the whole team, had a zero tolerance for drama, treated everyone like adults, etc. Once she left things went soooo down hill.

I think the Duke Blue Devils Tackle Breast Cancer Pink Out 2024 Shirt but in fact I love this word you’re looking for is matriarch. I gotta agree, they may be strict at times but they will jump through every hoop imaginable to make sure everyone’s needs are met. And they’re damn good at it, too. This part. One of my supervisors at work is an older black lady and she is my favorite because she is so gentle, but doesn’t take ANY crap from ANYBODY. I love it. She never curses, but she can make it feel like she did by the tone of her voice. My favorite thing ever is when she greets me at work with “how ya derrn baby” and we hug. There’s also some element of selection bias that influences the way I would view her competence. Given the systemic discrimination and frank amount of shit that society throws at women and people of colour, a black woman in a position of authority must have overcome a mountain of bias and discrimination to get there. In my mind, she must be extraordinary at whatever she’s up there for. I recognize this is absolutely not always the case, but it does affect my perception going in. I think to myself “this is a woman swimming uphill her entire life, but here she is.” Someone who is able to climb above her competitors who all start up so much higher and with a mountain of privilege, must be a total badass.

And black female bosses are awesome to work for. I have had several in my life and I would work my ass off for them because they were so good at what they did. I miss my last boss. She was from Nigeria and she fostered a very open relationship and I felt I could tell her anything. A girls girl through and through. We age gracefully, have smooth skin, generally we smell good (cocoa butter, something sweet) great at parties, are usually the Duke Blue Devils Tackle Breast Cancer Pink Out 2024 Shirt but in fact I love this most helpful and accepting of other racial groups, have nice bodies, we can dance, great at doing hair, good cooks And it’s not because you laugh at them……it’s because they have a unique ability to communicate simple truths in a “down home”, matter-of-fact way…..

I don’t know if it’s a stereotype, just my experience as a white woman being around a lot of black women in my jobs and community, but I feel like Black women are much more confident and accepting of their bodies. They at least aren’t afraid to have curves and flaunt them. Black women are extremely hard working and resilient (much more than they should ever have to be). If the Duke Blue Devils Tackle Breast Cancer Pink Out 2024 Shirt but in fact I love this world really rewarded hard work alone, black women would have ruled the earth aeons ago. Black women are warm, genuine, have a good sense of humor, they know how to give a compliment, they know how to cook well, sociable, always smell good, down to earth, they tend to be more straightforward, they like good music and they are always ready to express how much it means to them. The protective older black woman. When I was 18 and travelled on a greyhound for the first time I had an older black woman shoo a creepy guy off and I still think about her. Appreciated tf out of her for helping me feel safer

As a socially awkward black woman without any sense of fashion or friends I really am the Duke Blue Devils Tackle Breast Cancer Pink Out 2024 Shirt but in fact I love this antithesis of that stereotype. Lol, it’s almost comical. I totally love this thread as a Black woman because, we get so much bad stereotypes about us and I’m beyond grateful to read such good things about us. We are some truly amazing women. Most of the time I have met black women they dress so well. Growing up there was a African American family upstairs. We could smell the delicious food. We were also invited to eat so I always associate a welcoming nurturing attitude too. Not sure if these are stereotypes though. Good at setting boundaries and speaking up for what is right! The black women I’ve worked with were the only ones who tipped me off that I was being discriminated against at work for being lgbt. When they were considered “rude” it was often for politely setting a boundary at work that the rest of us had just been trained to put up with. I’ve grown a lot as a person from seeing that example.
idk if it’s a stereotype but every black woman I’ve seen has the Duke Blue Devils Tackle Breast Cancer Pink Out 2024 Shirt but in fact I love this most amazing voice! Very rich, like honey to my ears. There’s just something about their voices that just sounds incredible. In America, we owe much of our democracy (what’s left of it) to Black women. They are usually a reliable voting block, and they don’t stand for nonsense. Thanks ladies! I appreciate you, and I’m doing my part, too. Every black woman I’ve met smells fantastic (this is a pretty common thing people say about meeting Rihanna also) I remember even stopping a lady on the train platform and asking her what she was wearing because she smelled SO GOOD. They are more at the ready to defend? idk. On several occasions where I felt unsafe a black woman stepped in and made me felt safe. Even got scolded by one and given a whole lesson about what happened…. So now I sort of unconsciously gravitate myself towards groups of black women if I feel like some creeper is eyeing me or bothering me. Alot of them also have this “look” they can give and I noticed it makes people back off and I really wished I had that.
The women around me have always been a “keep your head down, be nice and polite and you’ll be out of trouble” sort. But the Duke Blue Devils Tackle Breast Cancer Pink Out 2024 Shirt but in fact I love this way many black women arent afraid to raise their voice to get someone to back off or vocalize they don’t like something and something has crossed their boundary, seem way more effective of actually making that personal boundary known, I really admire that. I always notice that Black women have beautifully clear skin! Every Black woman I know always looks like she’s glowing 🙂 From a European standpoint, they were the group that helped swing the election for Biden and gave us 4 more years of keeping Russia away from our border; consequently being a literally vital – as in, without their help it wouldn’t have happened – part of the effort to preserve democracy in both Europe and America. So yay. Also that they’ve been responsible, both historically and in the present, for alot of the best parts of American culture and their legal system (everything from rock and roll to the civil rights act to keeping Russia off the European border to Letitia James recovering nearly half a billion dollars for NY taxpayers last week, things that vast cross sections of American society and the world benefit from).
