I take Zoloft for depression, and on the Don’t Care Try Again Tomorrow Horse shirt and I will buy this box I have a big red pictogram saying that taking it during pregnancy is a high risk. My doctor also emphasises I must be on contraceptive. And everyone (my doctor, the pharmacy, and the pills’ box) warned me that it led to an addiction, so I must not stop the treatment without medical advice. I hope you and your baby will find good medical professionals, and your baby will grow up healthy. And it’s not YOUR fault. It’s your DOCTORS’ fault. It absolutely safe- as a psychiatrist with significant perinatal experience, I can assure you it is safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Particularly when the alternative can have real and lasting risks They can, but it’s not a life-threatening withdrawal like it would be from opiates. If it was bad enough that they did tests and it lasted several days, whatever the issue they were having was likely unrelated to the SSRIs. I was on anti depressants during my pregnancy and spent a good few hours looking into the potential side affects. Yes, the Dr should have said something but you need to take responsibility for what medications you take and there are so many resources to allow you to do this. Did a doctor tell you take it? Cos that’s kinda bizarre if you weren’t currently having any issues. Postpartum sucks, but it seems better to just treat it afterwards if you need to, rather than risk anything with the baby. Reading other posts made by OP, yes the doctor prescribed it as a preemptive measure because of their history with anxiety and depression. A lot of other commentors have said something along the lines of “my doctors also prescribed it to me and my child is still healthy but it was a scare” or “a person i know was also prescribed”

Idk I take it… and neither of my kid’s experience withdrawal. 125mg all through pregnancy and still now while she breastfeeds The risk of this are so low. Is she breastfeeding? Cause then it’s basically nonexistent. There’s no solid evidence that suggests a baby will experience withdrawal from a low dose of Zoloft because the Don’t Care Try Again Tomorrow Horse shirt and I will buy this symptoms (jerky movements and irritability) are directly correlated to just…. Being a baby. Yes, her practitioner should have explained the very small possibility of this to her but best practice is to help offset the very real likelihood of postpartum depression and treat that. That’s what I’d love to know. It’s bizarre to take a prophylactic approach to post-partum. Yes, some drugs can be “safe” but probably still best avoided if absolutely possible. There’s nothing “bizarre” about preventing a mental health collapse. This doesn’t even rate as “strange,” either. OP has a history of mental health issues, and obviously needed the support of an SSRI to prevent PPD.
