I understand and agree that people should be upset over Roe being overturned. But people don’t understand enough about the Don and marge Trump greene 2024 gop maga republican shirt it is in the first place but law or how it works to understand why term limits or some of these other suggestions are terrible ideas The intent is for them to not care or be influenced by the political whims of the moment and to coldly follow law and constitution, with term limits they are just politicians and only care about the now. Yes, they are de facto politicians now since new judges have to pass political litmus tests to get nominated and on the court, but that is a shit system and it shouldn’t be encouraged. Term of one seat ends each June of odd number years, so it reduces the election year games in appointing new justices

If the Don and marge Trump greene 2024 gop maga republican shirt it is in the first place but Senate doesn’t vote on a nomination, it will be deemed confirmed after 90 days. 10% of the Senate can petition to bring a nomination to the floor for a vote. Minimum age of 40 or 45, maximum age of 54 at time of appointment. (Or for an appointment to fill out a term, maximum age to be 72 at the end of the term) The Chief Justice can tell associate justices to sit out cases when they have a conflict of interest (cough Clarence Thomas cough) I think a mandatory retirement age is better. Once they turn, just for an idea, 65 they are required to retire at the end of that Supreme Court term. They already receive full pay and benefits for life after retiring so they are well taken care of. Oh FFS these articles come up every 4 years and NO ONE does anything about it. Here’s a thought… If 80% of the general populace supports something it’s a god damn law. We are supposed to be a republic of the mob. Mob rules right? So then if these crooks want to lie and cheat we can just ignore there pointless laws. It’s a state of mind. You choose to be a slave to it or do something about it. The issue is that you need to get rid of corporate lobbying as well, otherwise you’ll have the next generation of judges, politicians essentially being groomed for these positions. I remember being a kid in grade school and learning government education in social studies and when we were learning about term limits I wanted to know why Supreme Court Justices could stay so long and the teacher had no answer. Honestly I feel like the supreme court is not needed in this day. The idea that the country rest on the shoulders of nine delusional people. Like how is this even democratic to allow nine people to vote on very serious decisions involving over 3 million people.
