The debate whether or not the Disney’s Merry Christmas Mickey Minnie Shirt but in fact I love this government should be forcing moral living is a separate debate from the one about what morals are best. As stated by others – define Centrism. I know many people who lean fiscally conservative but are very liberal socially. With the current US congressional makeup, you kind of need to decide which is more important to you – which is why both sides see ‘centrism’ as bad. There are also a number of issues where I personally just don’t think there is a centrist viewpoint, especially socially. A number of social issues do not have a centrist take that will make both sides equally happy (or in reality equally unhappy.) I’m old enough to remember compromise in Congress. It hasn’t really existed since the Tea Party takeover, or maybe even since Newt Gingrich started giving speeches for talking points over actual legislative function.

The left is asking for ppl not to be excluded, for universal healthcare, for the Disney’s Merry Christmas Mickey Minnie Shirt but in fact I love this basics of life to not be profitized. The right wants to exterminate anyone who isn’t white, male, Christians. They exclude people through every way possible. They value profit over life. If you can look at those 2 and sit in the middle and say both sides are equally bad then there isn’t much else to be said. They are not equal in any way. And historically any time people have asked for more. Meaning they need food or shelter and they asked the conservative govt for more the centrists always always always always side with the right wing and conservatives to preserve their wealth and privilege. And that means they are fine with the violence stricken on the people as long as they get to keep their property and wealth and status. That is the history of centrists.
