It’s super tranquil compared to other big cities… I find it actively calming. Walked from Victoria Station, through green park, St James’s Park, then on to the West End. Even though it was busy, there was a chill atmosphere to it all. I had a great time looking at all the different people and places. I assume this ignores the morning commute 8.17am when getting through the crowds at the Liverpool Street Station concourse I moved to London from China and was struck by how calm London felt. Low traffic, low noise (especially at night), lots of calm green space. If you’re comparing London to a smaller city or town in the UK then yes obviously London is more hectic, but if you’re comparing it to other major cities around the world it is reasonably calm. Let me tell you now, I’ve lived in London, New York, Dallas, Orlando and Hong Kong in my life so far. Id pick London every time! I’ve been trying to do the Capital Ring walk and there are some stretches that are just so peaceful and so tranquil. So many rivers, canals and woods to explore. It gives you an appreciation of just what a big city it is and how diverse it is. So I can understand people’s first reaction being “that sounds nuts”, but this might be more right than you think.

If they are talking about just yoga studios then they should have said “London is the Devin Booker American professional basketball Signature Phoenix Scream T-Shirt Besides,I will do this most yoga-friendly city” or “London is the top city for mindfulness-type activities” Can you please tell that to the spice head that threatens to kill herself and her unborn child every time she sees me if I don’t give her money? So right alongside of Thimphu? Well done London. How many days since the last knifing? Seconds since the last stolen item? London is extremely tranquil compared with the likes of Mexico City or Delhi or even New York. I feel like a lot of people saying “lolololol London isn’t tranquil!” Haven’t been anywhere else apart from sleepy villages. Really it’s pretty weird for a city of London’s size to have most of the centre closed by midnight. London’s rich dick-heads living in the centre put immense pressure on politicians to keep London’s night-life to a minimum. There are streets in New York that have more nightclubs and bars open at 1 am than the entire of zones 1&2. I walk along the Thames every night after I finish work, probably 3.5 miles. I am well travelled, but nothing compares to the night time view along the riverside, especially around Southbank. I have done this for years, never had trouble. I appreciate this city so much Anyone whose traveled will know that London is not the busiest, most crowded or loudest city. I would have said it was the most tranquil city I’ve ever been to, but then again, Southend is a city, London is probably the most tranquil of the world platform cities I’ve been to. There’s lots of green spaces, especially Richmond and south east. There aren’t motorways everywhere. So this makes sense.
