Had the Derrick White Boston Cartoon American professional basketball player shirt and I will buy this same thing happen when I was a kid applying to jobs. This was before I had a cell phone. I gave out resumes and my mom got a call back from the movie theatres saying I had an interview for Friday. I show up and they said it was on Wednesday and they’ve now hired someone for it lol. In this case it was my mom who got the dates wrong lol if this is real – i don’t get why you wouldn’t immediately accept the offer if you “really wanted this job.” not like you couldn’t back out after accepting if something did come up and made you change your mind. hell you could even keep job hunting until your start date I think you dodged a bullet. If that’s how they run the show where nothing is their fault and blame it on the system etc etc… wait till they blame you for everything as a new hire. I honestly can’t believe how one-sided these comments are. I think getting 5 days is a very generous amount of time. I am employing people and if they would not have made up their minds in 5 days, I would see that as a major red flag towards their interest in the position and the company.

Own up to the Derrick White Boston Cartoon American professional basketball player shirt and I will buy this fact, that you very likely sent signals that this wasn’t your first priority and that you would drop this at the slightest opportunity to improve. I’m not saying that isn’t fair, not at all, you do you. But don’t expect them to love you conditionally if you are clearly indifferent to this vs another job. As a hiring manager who deals with infuriatingly incompetent HR people: if this is someone in HR and not directly from the hiring manager, PLEASE let the hiring manager know. They might still be able to fix it. I have lost several good candidates over the years because of HR’s incompetence. I don’t get why people really want to wait and see if they can get a better offer if they really need the job. is that couple euros really worth losing out on both opportunities? xD That HR department is waiting for the acceptance so they start with the process of getting all the paperwork done before the start date. You dont even bother to open the acceptance letter and read it, you waste their time, your hiring manager starts doubting you from the get go… and now you are basically begging them for the job.
