Why build wells when you can pay the army for guaranteed loyalty? People aren’t keys to power, so investing in them is stupid in a country where corruption is allowed. For Companies; Because they’re too busy profiting off of their cheap labour. The more they give to those nations, the more modern they become, hence the more they’ll ask for in pay, materials, rights ETC. For Organisations; Assuming you mean charity, most of the donated money gets pocketed by officials in those corrupt nations, refer to paragraph 2. For the rich; Some do, some don’t. I don’t think as soon as they get rich they decide to become the saviour of the world. Most billionaires have donated to poorer nations though, pretty much everyone you named. It’s just that they don’t care REALLY where the money goes so, again, it gets pocketed mostly.

And that’s IF the money even gets to poor because of their corrupt governments stepping in for a cut. Local governments and their corruption stops much of it. Lack of free market because local bureaucrats want bribes . Some very wealthy people do good things, they just don’t have 100+ million subscribers on YouTube, so you don’t see it now they buy social media platforms to flex as a giant abnoxious manchild somehow turning a 44billion dollar company to less than 19billion in one year I think that part of the problem that often comes up with providing any kind of humanitarian aid anywhere in Africa has been the simple fact that so many of the militias will just take the area over and kill the people who receive that aid, and lose it regardless. So setting up a well suddenly puts a hotspot on the village where commerce is being done so the militias will be more likely to congregate there, bringing with them the unruly behavior and murders. It’s possible that they may take the wells over and demand payment for using them, for example. If your whole purpose in life has been to make money, and you finally make it to the top 5 leaderboard and everybody knows how rich you are, why would you give away money and risk dropping down a position or two?
