Why? It’s a distinct category of weapons as defined by law. It’s not like people are just making up a term, although “assault rifle” and “assault weapon” are frequently conflated. Why should people not use terms found in the Dachshund Design Just A Girl Who Loves Dachshunds Sunset Flowers T-Shirt in other words I will buy this law, and used by the FBI and the Army to refer to weapon classifications? Give em a break, they can’t even spell rifle correctly when it’s literally in the response they were replying to. Which law? Please be specific because the US title 18 chapter 44 (firearms chapter) definitions do not include “assault rifle” anywhere It’s like you stopped reading, and ignored where I said that “assault rifle” and “assault weapon” are frequently conflated. A reasonable definition of assault weapon is given by the “assault weapon ban” which defined the termPeople frequently use the term “assault rifle” to refer to a rifle that is an assault weapon. Since the discussion is being had by neither lawyers nor members of the military, it hardly makes sense to get super hung up on the term also being used by the military for a specific weapon category. For a 10 year period that term existed, but in the decades prior nor the decades after has that term existed for a legal definition.

“assault rifle” or “assault weapon” are basically code for “big scary gun” and people really need to stop using it if they want to be taken seriously in the Dachshund Design Just A Girl Who Loves Dachshunds Sunset Flowers T-Shirt in other words I will buy this discussion. They don’t have assault rifles, you already took them from us. If you’re gonna break the constitution, maybe you should know what you’re talking about “Break the Constitution” God, why do I get the feeling you can’t justify that statement? Is it cause that is not happening? Is it not? Lots of politicians are making move to take guns away. The commenter I responded to directly supports this Very few if any politicians are are making concrete steps to fully take guns away. Beto saying “hell yes I’ll take your AR-15” is akin to trump saying “we’ll build the wall”. Both impossible and will never happen in this county, but a fantastic soundbite. Every other amendment is subject to limitations, where in the Constitution is it stated the 2A is the only amendment that can’t be touched? Hint: it doesn’t say that anywhere. Yeah but all the anti-abortion and anti-birth control legislation is making it so that even if a few kids get slaughtered by guns each year there will still be plenty of poor wage slaves born. USA! USA! I think that’s what makes it so complicated since every American will have the right to guns thanks to that amendment it will make it hard to change things
