I always find village a confusing term. I grew up in a village in North Yorkshire. There was a shop, a school (20 pupils) and a pub. Residents about 200. To me that is a village and what you are showing is a town but I know I am wrong, it just feels very odd. A barrel of gunge? La de la royalty over here. At least you had something to play with! We were lucky if we saw a decomposing squirrel once in a while. Paradise!! We never had a decomposing squirrel, all squirrels migrated out of village for a better life. A town could be smaller in population than a village but, if it has a town charter and a town council, then it’s a town (it used to also be that it had to have a regular street market). My parents live in Gerrards Cross (population around 9,000) which became a town in 2016.
