IQ tests don’t really measure intelligence as much as some people would like to think. Like the Cousin crew 2024 Making Memories Together Summer Vacation Beach T-Shirt and I will buy this other commentor stated, it’s mostly testing one’s ability to take the test itself rather than testing their overall intelligence in any quantifiable way. Exactly. The test worked initially because no one was used to that kind of questions and it required actual intelligence to figure them out at the spot. Nowadays, its far more memory based as someone who remembers even one question will be leaps ahead of an equally intelligent person who scored one question less. But still with good IQ tests intelligents people have a good score usually, even if they didn’t train for IQ test before. So it’s not totally useless, just incomplete as evaluating someone. There’s not many fields where IQ tests would be helpful and even in the ones is, they are smart enough to know IQ tests are bogus 99% of the time

No it doesn’t. Iq tests are quackery, so even in fields where intelligence is required they are a bad metric to filter for I always test above 120 but I’m dyslexic and can’t spell basic words sometimes, I have a terrible memory for names, form numbers, emails, phone numbers, basically anything written and arbitrary. Relatable. I have a reasonably high IQ while also having several neurodivergencies/disabilities that make me the Cousin crew 2024 Making Memories Together Summer Vacation Beach T-Shirt and I will buy this slowest goddamn learner in the world with a random assortment of skills that other people can master in a day, dyscalculia being a high ranking one in these, and I also have a chronic mental health condition that gives me the memory capacity of a broken hard drive from the mid-90s. (There’s a lot of work I could be doing and doing well, though, it’s just that these jobs are not hiring per IQ and having a blank CV at 32 doesn’t exactly make me a great candidate.)
