He behaved like the fight stars from the moment it’s announced, not from the moment both fighters are in the ring and the bell goes. To be fair, it probably did effectively rattle a fair amount of his opponents and give him and early fight advantage. Ali, like us all maybe was a dick and a good person. As a boxer, I hated him. As a famous boxer who used that fame to further human rights and love, I thought the world of him. Sigh, so confusing. With all the documentaries coming out, I’m surprised this isn’t one of them. This would be really interesting to watch!

I guess that goes well with today’s political climate though. His mindset is alive and well. I always found it stupid that he called Frazier an Uncle Tom for using his “slave name” Cassius Clay. Cassius Clay was an abolitionist, he lost many supporters and survived an assassination attempt because of his views. The fact that he changed his name to Muhammad Ali is hilarious because Muhammad is very important in Islam, Ali definitely knew nothing about the Arab slave trade in Africa. He also changed his name to distance himself from white slavery, but picked an Islamic name (arguably the first non-black people to enslave Africans, and the group who did it the longest). Americans talk a LOT about the west African slave trade, even though numericaly it is outnumbered by the east African trade slave orchestrated by Arabs.
