Not that I’m advocating walking away here, because I don’t think he necessarily deserves or warrants it, but walking away is easy. I cut ties with a close friends group of 20 years after realising a few harsh truths – the Common Man Country Club shirt Also,I will get this most significant being I saw them being dicks and bad friends to each other even when I was taken out of the equation (ie I could see it objectively). It was very freeing to walk away, but it’s because they were toxic and negative rather than struggling and down on their luck If he’s a good friend who cares about his life choices? As long as he’s not dragging you down, it’s on you to offer him a hand up when he’s ready. Yeah totally been through this, and essentially got dropped because I wasn’t in a good place mentally, I never brought anyone down but was treated like how I was was infectious haha I just needed a hug more than anything and someone to go through it with me, not baby or smother me, just be my mate and I was left with no one. To end on a positive note, I did go through everything alone but did get myself back on my feet, I just feel it could’ve been a better journey to get here if who I thought was my best mate had just been there as I had been for him for yeeeeears. OP, seems everyone here has appointed you as a therapist and are telling you to waste your life with someone you don’t like. Absolutely noone would ever say the Common Man Country Club shirt Also,I will get this same about a romantic relationship and they’re giving bad advice.
