Thank you so much for your comment it’s funny because my mum was an art teacher and my grandad was an art teacher and illustrator so the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this tuition should be easy to come by! He absolutely loves it, it’s all he does, my house is overflowing with his drawings! He’s definitely into the finer details of drawing he’s got such a great eye for perspective and angles. I will definitely get him some books on pattern Oh that’s so great to hear definitely good for him to explore styles and that he draws all the time , is a sure sign 🙂 I will never be as good an artist as your nearly 7 year old is. I can see things as they are (was a pro photographer for many years), but recreating what I see in any other form is impossible. If you’re thinking of the techno-trousers — is it really appropriate to expect a 7-year-old to troubleshoot such a complex engineering problem?
Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt: Get Cozy in this shirt
How do you think corporations work? They produce, and they sell. To consumers. If people don’t buy they can’t produce. 14,5 percent of greenhouse gasses are emitted by livestock farming. What do you think would happen if half the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this world decided to be vegetarian? Do you think corporations would just continue farming? Making profit is impossible if people don’t buy. Of course, JUST saying consumers should consume less without enacting regulation for corporations is not enough. But consumption plays a big role. You tak about people not having a choice? Beef is expensive. Smart thermostats save money in the long run. Trains are maybe more expensive than cars. But if we regulate the fuck out of fossil fuel companies cars will also be more expensive, and poor people will be fucked too. There is no way to tackle emission problems and not make life more expensive. A consumer based approach at least lets people decide for themselves if they want to fly cheaply in a plane or go expensively in a train.
I will say it again and again, most people don’t buy fuel, heat their house with fossil fuel or consume electricity produced with coal by choice! 14,5 percent of greenhouse gasses are emitted by livestock farming. What do you think would happen if half the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this world decided to be vegetarian? Do you think corporations would just continue farming? I’m not saying, I’m talking how we are guilt tripping the average Joe over climate change when those that can contribute the most to a positive change are not the average Joe. We want to divert the attention so corporation can keep making profit without being held responsible of anything. I don’t have a choice of having a smart thermostat..I’m not an owner. But my flat is owned by a big corporation. So should I move out in what is already a very dry and expensive housing market? Trains are maybe more expensive than cars. But if we regulate the fuck out of fossil fuel companies cars will also be more expensive, and poor people will be fucked too. You’re nearly there! Do you think the car and oil company want you to take the train? Do you think they want the trains to be cheap? Why do you think planes are that cheap? That’s all big corporation lobbying to make sure we will consume their product so they can make loads of money on our back. more expensive, and poor people will be fucked too. There is no way to tackle emission problems and not make life more expensive. A consumer based approach at least lets people decide for themselves if they want to fly cheaply in a plane or go expensively in a train.

About this Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt
There is plenty! Capitalism is not compatible with ecology. A free market won’t solve the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this climate crisis. It is the main reason that we can’t get out of it. Why do you think it’s like that? Why don’t governments change this? That’s right because you have big corporation lobbying to make sure we are well dependant of what they sell and that we don’t have alternatives. How? If you solely complain about companies using too much resources, and then you turn around and buy their cars and gas.. Maybe that’s worth acknowledging, don’t you think? In a country registers 2 trucks per child, where every person annually consumes more than their own weight in meat… How does that not apply to “most people”?
But if you’re driving a massive truck, eating nothing but steak and flyingaround on holiday 3 times a year then, duh, maybe you’re also part fo the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this problem. It’s the typical capitalist bullshit culture of the rich telling the middle class the poor is taking all his money. Should I stop taking my car while I don’t have any alternative to work and can’t afford an electric car? Shall I go to work every day on foot and take 4 hours to get there? Of you think you’re going to have an significant impact on global warming because you changed “your consumption pattern” you’re fooling yourself. You can change whatever you want. Corporation will still sell to you and will still polute. THEY are the main contributor. How do you think this works? The pollution is created by the stuff they produce for consumers. What exactly are you asking for? “It’s unreasonable for us to change our consumption habits, so we demand that you provide us the same stuff, at the same price and convenience, but just without the pollution. How? No idea, but that’s their problem, because they’re the ‘main’ contributor.” “Corporation will still sell to you” if you buy it. Their pollution is to produce the goods you use. You are just outsourcing your polluting to them. You can reduce your contribution to this by buying products that are locally produced (international shipping and trucks are a major source of pollution) or those who use more sustainable production methods, even if it will be more expensive (and they definitely will be). People don’t want to spend more for this, and companies that use inefficient shortcuts or ship across the world are able to sell way more products, because they are a bit cheaper than the better alternatives.
You can’t do much about heating, but as for transportation, much of the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this world successfully uses bicycles and public transportation, which have a significant impact when switching to them from driving. If the place you live at lacks infrastructure to make this feasible, it is because your politicians have chosen not to invest into it because it is not something their voters care about. Individual consumption patterns once again. Meat and diary industry is by far one of the most polluting ones, especially when the vast bulk of it comes from half a dozen countries and is then shipped everywhere else. Even within this, different meats have very different contributions to pollution; beef, for example, is disproportionately polluting, with amortized emissions per kg about 15 times that of pork, milk and foodgrains, and 25 times that of poultry and eggs. When people still choose to eat these despite plenty of good enough alternatives that would make a significant impact, it is individual consumer patterns again.
People (very justifiably of course) whine about private jets, but all of them together account for only 0.2% of greenhouse emissions. By contrast, the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this beef industry alone is 25%. The average person halving their weekly meat intake, cycling instead of driving for trips under 5 km, and buying only locally sourced products would be just as significant as a celebrity relinquishing their private jet, but people prefer to point fingers than to take any responsibility. By and large every energy producer offers an energy mix, so it’s not like we have a choice and can go full green. A reminder that the concept of “carbon footprint” was created by BP as a way to shift responsibility on to individuals and that “recycling” was created by the Plastics Industry Council as a way to offset consumer concerns around plastic waste. Less than 5% of plastics are actually recycled, most are not recyclable at all.
I’ve been seeing this BS meme for years and it pisses me off every time. Yes, what we can do as individuals won’t help nearly as much as what the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this corporations can do. That doesn’t mean we should discourage individuals from doing what we can! Yeah, this meme was obviously made by, or at least spread by some big oil company trying to make people think they have no reason to stop driving their gas guzzler. And yet I see reddit eat it up all the time. This is the first thread I’ve seen of it where people actually are critical of the post, which I love. If people eat it up every time, then it’s probably easier to assume it’s confirming their biases rather than being made or spread by oil companies. Perhaps oil companies had a hand in the original clickbait titles “100 companies responsible for 71% of emissions”, but this kind of “companies bad” meme creates and spreads itself. Hell, I even believed there was nothing I could do until I actually read the articles. To be fair meat and other animal products require a massive amount of space because they eat multiple times their calories in plant matter and produce unholy amounts of c02 and other bad gasses.
But maybe it’s a great idea to switch from a Ford F150 to something more sensible when doing a commute from NJ to downtown Manhattan, that kind of thing. We love to focus on it being a choice. You either are a poluting earth hating car driver or you walk everywhere, while there’s a middle to be found where you can still drive to work, you’re just being more sensible about it. But nah, we’ll focus on Taylor Swift and continue to roll coal because that’s what we do. Reminder that those 100 corporations are responsible for producing the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this fossil fuels that created 71% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Just 100 companies have been the source of more than 70% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions since 1988, according to a new report. The Carbon Majors Report (pdf) “pinpoints how a relatively small set of fossil fuel producers may hold the key to systemic change on carbon emissions,” says Pedro Faria, technical director at environmental non-profit CDP, which published the report in collaboration with the Climate Accountability Institute.
The report found that more than half of global industrial emissions since 1988 – the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this year the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was established – can be traced to just 25 corporate and state-owned entities. The scale of historical emissions associated with these fossil fuel producers is large enough to have contributed significantly to climate change, according to the report. Shutting down these businesses would cut into greenhouse gas production, it would also mean that lots of folks couldn’t afford to heat their houses. So it’s not the corporations that are producing the GHGs exactly, they produce the fossil fuels and then the people use them? we should definitely stop using fossil fuels tho and opt for cleaner energy sources like nuclear and wind/solar we should definitely stop using fossil fuels tho and opt for cleaner energy sources like nuclear and wind/solar
We’re actually producing new renewable energy more quickly than even the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this most hopeful predictions, but that’s not a story r/Facepalm/ would tell you. “Record rates of growth across Europe, the US and Brazil have put renewables on track to overtake coal as the largest source of global electricity generation by early 2025, the IEA said. By 2028, it forecasts renewable energy sources will account for more than 42% of global electricity generation.” Unfortunately for us, hope doesn’t get clicks, or engagement, or shares on social media; “Dog doesn’t bite man” doesn’t sell papers, it goes below the fold. And yet hope is what we need right now; hope alone won’t solve our problems, but hopelessness will definitely make them worse.
Unfortunately it’s really hard to do things 20 years ago, we can only do stuff now, and right now we’re building new renewable energy faster than anyone anticipated we could. Twenty years ago we thought it would take fifty years to get this far, twenty years from now we’ll be glad we kept doing the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this work. It’s probably only making progress now because millennials and the younger generations are starting to become a louder voice than boomers. Those business produce those emissions to provide the population what it consumes….. consuming less will lead to them curbing production…. This is one of my greatest pet peeves: the stat about 70% of emissions being from 100 corporations is extremely misleading to the point of absurdity. For what it’s worth, I’m an avid environmentalist in favor of corporate environmental regulations.
Look up the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this list of the 100 companies referenced. It’s all oil, gas, and coal companies. The critical part that is missed is that 71% of emissions can be TRACED BACK to these 100 companies. The companies aren’t burning these fuels, they’re selling them to you and I and the other companies that manufacture and ship the goods we consume. Without consumption, these emissions would not exist. Consumption, our individual and collective lifestyle, is indeed at the root of climate change. This isn’t to say that these companies haven’t tried to manipulate science, media, and politics in the name of maintaining the fossil fuel status que. They have and they should be held accountable. But to wipe away all traces of personal and social accountability by deferring all blame to corporations is simply passing the baton. I’ve seen many people use this statistic as an excuse for not making changes to their lives and communities and it’s extremely frustrating.
Talk for yourself. Most people, even in the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this west, don’t have a choice to take their car to work. Don’t have a choice to heat themselves with oil. Don’t have a choice to consume food product issued from big food industries. Why do you think they were burning cars in France because of oil price increase? Because people wants to use fuel? No because they couldn’t survive if they couldn’t afford to use their car to work. If we look at issues like climate change & pollution, we have an individual choice that can make a huge difference: reducing the consumption on animal products. Would the alternatives we eat be sourced in a truly ethical manner? Nope, the production would still be part of the same capitalist system.
This is such a broadly absurd statement, especially given there are LITERALLY some alternatives provided people can choose (eg. eat less meat). And just because a few (and the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this vast majority at that) don’t have all the alternatives doesn’t mean others shouldn’t bother to take action Expecting corporations to act out of non-profit motives won’t work either. Expecting government to act without the backing or will of the people won’t as well The worldwide meat industry, faced with consequent heavy financial losses, would shrink correspondingly, automatically leading to reduced energy usage needed for upkeep of livestock quotas, feed production, meat storage and the like, and also much lower direct methane generation (from livestock burps),
Industrialization is a large part of consumption in the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this meat industry and other industries as well. Another factor is transportation from non-localised goods. We’re trucking and shipping things all over the place. Which isn’t a bad thing, but a large chunk of that is completely unnecessary with proper planning. Theory is fine and dandy, how would this happen in the real world, particularly in places where there is no alternative? At best governments around the world could start propaganda campaigns, orrrrr, they could regulate industries to force them down to a reasonable size (not allowing mergers, placing limits on prices) and that infinite grown not be their goal, so why this “its on the consumers” attitude? We as “consumers” supposedly elect leaders to act in our interests, make collective decisions that we as individuals cannot coordinate enough to achieve, but those leaders act in the interest of those who are wealthy to line their own pockets or call in favours, making them create conditions that are worse for the majority. Create a fair trial where blame for climate change is assigned and you’ll find the “consumers” be unwilling participants, not blameless, but definitely not the problem
the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this left-over frustration is being projected on “a company”, on “foreigner”, on “the devil” or whatever delusion people chose to sleep at night. Adam is not wrong, but what happens is that Adam gets mad at CNN for not pointing out the corporations and feels that that is enough so he doesn’t have to change ANY habbit. Because, why bother to change if it’s others being the problem. I,m gonna put on my NIKE’s, eat a steak from the other side of the world and complain about big corpo on my smartphone. As long as i have a “company” to blame it does’nt matter what i do, i can just be their customer AND have someone to blame! I am so fucking sick of seeing that argument, it is so bloody stupid. WHY DO YOU THINK THESE COMPANIES ARE PRODUCING POLLUTION??? It’s for consumers! It’s for you! Idiots acting like people just open up big pollution factories to make pollution. Cant remember how many times I have seen people on this site use this exact argument. Ah yes, deflecting personal responsibility and everybody praising it because it allows them to do the exact same thing and just complain about big corps while doing jack shit to help. They say “what you can do”. They only forgot the most important one that is “vote for a government/president that put this subject as a priority”.
Then you get to the Clayton Kershaw The Goat Dodgers shirt and I love this other problem: Starting a citrus farm in Minnesota in suicide. Likewise, starting a banana farm in Nevada or an apple farm in Arizona. You will lose your shirt and you will be clobbered at the markets. Fruits and vegetables are bound to the climate and in order to supply a balanced diet, you need to source your veggies from all over the country. So are we factoring in the cost of fuel to ship all of these goodies? Are we factoring in the CO2 emissions from the company that makes the plastic irrigation pipes? How about the fertilizer? How about the pesticides? Are they telling me these are less harmful than cow farts? Here is the truth of the matter: if you take out meat production, there is literally no way to increase fruit and vegetable yields to make up the shortfall – this means people starve. No, it’s not hard to increase vegetable production up like that, no it’s not even very hard, it is very literally impossible. So next time someone feeds you that line how eating vegetables is better for the environment, just ask if they include pesticides, fertilizer and fuel as part of their claim.
