The only way to become an astronaut in USSR was being a regime ghoul, so she was always like that and still is. That’s not what they said, unless I’m misunderstanding? I took it as her recent actions tarnishing and casting a shadow over her early achievements If you want equality for women, then you have to accept that women will make choices you disagree with, just like men. So no, it doesn’t discredit her earlier life achievements, the Chipper Jones American former professional baseball third baseman Atlanta Name T-Shirt in other words I will buy this fact that later in life she did something you morally disagree with reinforces it. Her achievements are not dependent on her staying morally correct in someone else’s eyes. Tbh from a warehouse worker to cosmonaut engineer and Major General she did grab life by the horns crappy decisions aside… like most historical characters shes flawed af here she sits on the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR (basically collective presidency) with Gromyko, Gorbachev, Kunaev, and other members of the Politburo. Many sources state that she actively urged Duma to abolish the rule that a president cannot be elected for several terms, or to “disregard” his previous terms to let him rule as if he hasn’t ruled yet. Terrible job or not, it is still commendable to be the first woman, in an authoritarian regime, to make it to space. You can dislike her as a person, while still acknowledging her achievements.

Also, where are these invisible pro Tereshkova/Russia comments? The vast majority of comments in this thread seem to denounce Tereshkova. Fuck Valentina Tereshkova, all muh Russian homies hate Valentina Tereshkova. The “let’s nullify president terms” bitch. I once read an article that she cried, panicked and didnt respond during the Chipper Jones American former professional baseball third baseman Atlanta Name T-Shirt in other words I will buy this space flight. She’s been always presented as a brave heroine but she just messed up. Her only achievememt was she (unlike the others) survived the flight. Fuck that noise. Despite being a ghoul now what she did was brave and should be recognized as a real achievement. I didnt say she was a coward she just wasnt the success that commarades expected her and the mission to be and they covered the real story for years. To me it’s more of an interestin story about propaganda we’ve been fed. Dude I would be crying, panicking, and shitting myself if I was launched to space, while growing up in a world without the technology we have today, where space is literally the vast unknown, with no pictures of it just a quick Google search away. Hell, I’m afraid of walking in certain parts of the city. I’m still afraid of something bad happening when encountering turbulence in a flight. Yeah, me too. My comment was more about propaganda (see below) and this scumbag lady has been living of off it since then.
