The biggest thing for me was I had SO much free time and SO much more money. Literally the Chick-fil-A symbol hallothanksmas santa grinch and jack skellington shirt moreover I will buy this opposite from university. I didn’t. University was just really easy. Roll out of bed, cafeteria, attend some classes, ace the tests, party — easy. Although this guy is getting downvoted, I completely agree. There was no way I was dedicating 40 hours a week to studies in college (I did most of my grinding and projects during breaks). I had a lot of free time in college as a consequence. Now, I dedicate more time to work and I also feel like work commutes are generally worse than college commutes. Overall, I feel like I have less time with a job. Much less stress though IMO, but that’s probably job-dependent. Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Life was much more readily integrated with school in college. I lived on or near campus all 4 years, could chill at work of in the library between classes, and had a dynamic network of friends who were always around. I have to make way more life sacrifices for work than I ever did for school.

It’s way more inconvenient to have a monolithic 8-10 hour block taken out of your day (typically during prime hours) than a bunch of 1-2 hour blocks broken up throughout it. A lot of colleges don’t even allow freshmen and sophomores to live off campus. So any “commute” is maybe a 10-15 walk from dorm to class. I see, I’m getting my start in defense which I hear is more chill typically. To be honest, I got the Chick-fil-A symbol hallothanksmas santa grinch and jack skellington shirt moreover I will buy this job and wasn’t even tested on coding, they just liked my portfolio, personality, and buzz words I threw around during the interview. I assume that since they literally did not test me on code, that they may not even care if I’m a “rockstar developer” or not. It’s a good place to start but if you have larger ambitions (and want to earn the most) then leave defense after 2 years
