Which is again fine, but its not like this is some huge moral issue, its a business dispute about who is going to make money off of Reddit. There are moral business disputes, see fights about the price of insulin, this just isn’t one of them. I accept your critique, but I think you’re talking to the wrong person if the main thrust of your argument is that people are unfairly making this a ‘huge moral issue’ when it isn’t in your opinion. While I did frame it as a fight between an ‘independent developer’ and a ‘behemoth’ – let me clarify that as that comment was pretty snarky: my opinion is that viewing it as simply two businesses fighting is an unfair characterization as it implies (to me at least) that both sides have equal power and both sides are equally using their power in a way that an average person would consider to be reasonable. I apologize if it was too snarky. Beyond that, personally as a user of third party apps, I am affected by this change and have an interest in seeing changes to API pricing that minimally disrupts my experience on the site, which is why I support further blackouts/protest measures.
