If that was the case, and they ate them all, that would be over 3 sandwiches per person. That sounds completely impossible. Maybe they brought the uneaten sandwiches on the plane back with them, or maybe they were made with smaller rolls rather than large loaves of french bread that could handle 3 pounds of filling. I don’t think it’s possible either. If they really were 3+ pounds a piece and 8000 calories that would be way too much to fit in one sitting. Then again competition eaters surprise me, but also Elvis wasn’t a competition eater. It’s nearly 25000 calories for three of these sandwiches which is about 10 days worth of food for the average person. Or you know, he took a few bites out of one and threw it away before taking some bites of the next one. Doesn’t really strike me as the “saving for leftovers” mindset.

Well it’s basically a cake with lard filling. French bread with jelly and bacon is about as calorie dense as you can get. So its not taking up as much room as youd expect. Edit: guys I meant energy output… you can create the “ouptut” you’re thinking of much easier and without drugs if you wanted. But you could not expend 8000 calories of energy in a day without meth.
