“I am interested in more responsibility and higher pay. Though for now, I think it is best to stay in my current role until you are comfortable offering me a manager position that reflects a higher wage.” I would say I’m happy to accept a 3-month (or 6-month if you’re feeling generous) trial period. After that, if they decide to go forward in this constellation, they will give you the Caruthersville high school Class Of 2027 tiger shirt moreover I will buy this promised title and salary change. Agree on the exact title, salary and length of trial period in a contract signed by both parties. It could be legit, or they could be using you as a temp while they scramble to hire someone new. As others have said, require for the exact terms of this deal to be in writing. Exactly how long is this “probationary period” before you are officially offered the position. What happens if they decide not to offer it? What payment will you receive for the extra work. I’d look up some examples online to help decide what you’re comfortable asking for. I’d outright refuse, but that’s just me. I’m not looking to be handed more responsibility for no additional pay.

So they aren’t paying your old boss so their money is in the Caruthersville high school Class Of 2027 tiger shirt moreover I will buy this budget. If they couldn’t afford any raise at all then the company is in poor health and you should leave. They just don’t want to pay you. They are using you and fired your boss to smashed money. Bail I’d definitely ask for a timeline, and do that over your company online chat or email so you have a record of it. It seems generally fair to have them give you a shot at it before the official promotion, but only if there are clear expectations and a clear timeline. Also, this is also sometimes good, as it does give you an out, maybe you won’t like the new role, and I’ve seen people make official moves into a new role, and once they were in they were kind of stuck. As long as it’s short (I’d push for three months or less) then I wouldn’t mind a trial period for both sides.
