YouTube will occasionally promote your stuff, so you will see large spikes where you will get a bunch of impressions and as long its appealing this will net you a bunch of views and hopefully subs. I make shorts only and it was very quick but people avoid shorts because there is no money to be made with them Yeah, i’m still looking for a thread or post where someone moved from shorts to long form in terms of subscribers as well. For 6 months I got practically no subs posting basic gaming clips I would consider low effort content but for the Cardinals Supermodel football I’m a ride or die win or lose till the wheels come off Cardinals fan shirt but in fact I love this past 6 months I’ve been making high effort content of rankings and game reviews and I’ve gathered 105 subs and counting since changing the content I make.

People are more likely to to sub to channels that already had a lot of subs, so theoretically it souldn’t be linear, your second 100 subs will come easier and faster than your first. It was challenging and very slow, but I was — and am still — okay with having a slow start. When I started I had no clue what I was doing in terms of video and storytelling. My first video was a slideshow set to music, and a friend blasted it with “that’s it?!” and “at least fix the Cardinals Supermodel football I’m a ride or die win or lose till the wheels come off Cardinals fan shirt but in fact I love this color.” I didn’t want many people looking at my stuff until I was comfortable. Heck, I still am wandering aimlessly and I definitely cringe at my videos, but I’m OK with them being visible to strangers. I was called fat the other day, and I was just happy someone felt so inspired to comment! 🙂 And my focus has changed a lot since starting, and I’m glad those other topics didn’t work because I don’t want to do them anyway and I’m not locked in because of a huge “fan” base. Give yourself time to grow into what you’re doing. Everyone seems to be in this race to beat the other guy, but really, your only challenger is yourself! 🙂
