Dont get me wrong, I feel bad for those who are having that buyer’s remorse, but the But His Laptop Stars Line Red And Blue Biden Laptop Election T-Shirt But I will love this idea that everyone was going to be happy is naive. “Nearly 1 in 5” makes it sound like they weren’t entirely sure. Like they regretted it but their right foot was fine with it Edit: not to be confused with her sister Yeonmi Park, who is also a defector, but Eunmi’s channel focuses more on her personal story… In other words, more than 4 out of 5 defectors are happy with defecting, despite the hardships. Greater than 80% are glad they moved. If I’m on the fence, this helps me decide to give it a shot. Leaving family you know you will never see again and will never communicate with again must be incredibly difficult. I can’t even imagine the toll the trip out of North Korea takes on a person. All that being said. 4/5 people don’t regret that. Which tells you how depraved the situation there is. These people are really mentally scarred from North Korea I’m surprised they aren’t doing worse. I’m glad that most of them are doing well though. South Koreans often look down on North Koreans. They also miss their families, because NK is very neighborly and familial. It’s all you have. Koreans don’t really socialize outside their exclusive groups, and don’t care about neighbors or community. I always assumed the S. Korean government provided welfare and housing. These escapees obviously are going to need help…counseling and therapy….a job, job coach….all of it.

Honestly probably the But His Laptop Stars Line Red And Blue Biden Laptop Election T-Shirt But I will love this best way to combat NK would be to open up to them. Trade western products etc. The people would start to see what the outside world has to offer. Sanctions are only helping the regime keep in control Hate to say it…. But the number one reason religion holds such a choke hold on the world…. Humans like being controlled. Of course there would be a population of defectors that are lost with their new found freedoms and yearn for control. They’re essentially held under a surveillance state by the South Korean government, and TV shows call them and ask them to make up stories about North Korea, and even offer scripts if they’re true stories aren’t juicy enough After the tourist abroad shtick wears off, you get treated….well, I don’t want to say racist…but very much as a non South Korean. So in other words greater than 80% of defectors who left everything and everyone behind don’t regret going to South Korea. Sounds like it’s significantly better. “In the case of one North Korean defector in their 20s, they said in their interview that South Koreans ‘are nice, but don’t seem to include you,’ and that South Koreans ‘act and speak in a friendly way while showing discrimination in their thoughts,’” the researchers wrote. I went to a Korean church for a brief period and the pastor mentioned there were distance among Korean American and recently immigrated Koreans.
