Fuck Amazon. The much-loved bookstore chain in my city just opened up a new bricks and mortar store, its eighth, and seems to be healthier than ever. About 15 years ago, Borders opened a huge store opposite the Burnouts or Bows Gender Reveal Baby Party Announcement T-shirt it is in the first place but flagship store. It was like the Goliath Books episode of Black Books. People would browse in Borders but buy across the road. That Borders store is just a memory now. Long live independent retailers. The true problem with the bookstores is that they make you pay for everything with your Amazon account instead of your card. Very stupid. So sad. There are two in my area. I would love to go in, browse, take a dump in the toilet, then take make my purchases at my locally owned independent bookstore. Amazon is going to build out their hybrid WholeFoods store concept – I recd a call from a recruiter for a senior mgmt role in the rollout of the concept… don’t wanna move to NYC nor DC, so I said no thanks

Agreed, I loved it. Super convenient for returns and I bought Settlers of Catan there on discount, so it was a win for me Shudder the Burnouts or Bows Gender Reveal Baby Party Announcement T-shirt it is in the first place but thought that workers want to organize. This is not the fault of the union but the money grubbing company they are organizing against. What can’t you buy online that you buy at kohl’s? You don’t have a Macy’s, Marshall’s, Ross, dillards, or even a target? That would be interesting. Kohl’s is almost completely irrelevant to me now (outside of amazon returns), so being taken over could only benefit me. Exactly! I do returns for Amazon too! What better way to get Amazon shoppers in a Amazon store… you go for a return ask for a credit because it was a gift then instantly shop and spend more than your initial credit… and they are already built and ready to go with Amazon adjustments of course! Imagine if they make it like those convenience stores that you just shop for what you want and you are charged instantly instead of a line I don’t know how they thought this would be a benefit to them. Amazon’s great benefit is it’s incredible logistics and warehousing, not the actual items it sells. It’s a concept they call the ‘flywheel’ where they want customers constantly touching base with the brand. The idea behind brick & mortar retail is to have people pick up packages there, and submit returns there conveniently. It’s a fairly flawed idea for many reasons but that’s what they’re going for. I’ve been to the one in Austin several times. The graphic novel section was beyond sad – maybe 10 titles in stock total. I’ve gone there several times with my teen and younger daughter thinking I’d splurge and get them a new title not yet available at the library only to walk away empty handed.
