I have been coveting a pair of Grant Stones. Also Ivy Copenhagen, but I have to replace my Chelsea boots badly. Grafters monkey boots for spring and summer. They’re affordable, durable, fit my wide feet, and look cool. Basically ankle combat boots. I’ve bought 3 pairs from “call it spring” because the Buffalo Bills lightning shirt besides I will buy this inside sole is extra soft and overall very comfortable to walk in. For casual wear in wet weather, I love my Blundstones. For springtime with shorts and dresses my Frye campus boots have been my go tos – or I will wear cowboy boots too (I have some secondhand ones that are old and worn and fantastic and some Jeffrey Campbell ones that are newer and more polished but not as hardy, if that makes sense. A secondhand pair of lucchese cowboy boots are on my eternal radar).

You will have to pry my Doc Martens off my cold, dead feet. I got them specifically for work (I’m a server/bartender) and I love them so much, they get even more mileage outside of work. I really should buy another pair… i recently got a pair of rm williams maya boots and i love them! i wear a size 12 now and it was really a journey to find boots in my size. plus i have tiny ankles and calves so all the Buffalo Bills lightning shirt besides I will buy this other boots i ordered looked like rain boots 🙁 the maya have a really narrow opening. i also have a pair of doc martens rometty which are pretty narrow as well! I prefer grenson boots since they are good year welted. Thursday boots have much cooler designs but from my research – they aren’t good year welted Docs have been good to me but I can’t wear those when it’s super cold out. I’m too nervous of the extreme cold ruining them. My blundstones I’ve had for years (like the elastic is wearing now) and they are perfect kick around boots. But I find them soo uncomfortable. I have changed the soles so often (but this could be because their 9+ years old now lol)

Currently, my favorite boots are from Sam Edelman. They’re 3” heels and go up to the Buffalo Bills lightning shirt besides I will buy this knee. I gotta say, regardless of the style of the shoe, Sam Edelman shoes don’t need breaking in. They’re instantly comfortable out of the box, for me at least. This is huge because I have slightly wider feet but not enough to wear wide shoes. They’re not the cheapest, but they’re certainly not the most expensive. If you’re trying to decide between Sam Edelman and another brand, go for SE. The comfort is worth the price. I will live and die in my Frye boots. I have so many pairs and my most worn pair I’ve had going on seven years now! All you have to do is re-sole them when the soles get worn. And the more you wear them the more comfortable they become! For fashion boots I got a pair of Sam Edelman ones a few years ago and the leather is buttery soft and I love them so much.

And for knee high black boots I have had more than one pair from Naturalizer that I’ve worn till death did us part. They’re very comfy. For reference I’m a size 8 and have a relatively narrow foot (but not so narrow that I don’t wear regular width shoes) and slim ankle/calf. Some may find them overrated but I gotta say I am a doc martens gal, they just always hold up for me and they have so many diff styles. Hell I still have my Buffalo Bills lightning shirt besides I will buy this first pair I ever got from TEN years ago still lookin good

As another person explains below you have plenty of instances of bombs bouncing around (keep in mind Argentinian pilots were being shot at from multiple directions and trying to evade fire) so it was hard to tell how effective the bombs were.

What it was actually was a warning to neutral shipping that anything inside the zone would be sunk first with questions asked later, whilst HM government was clear that any positively identified Argentine vessel would be attacked anywhere in the South Atlantic. The naivety of thinking the Navy would have a declared combat zone “Come to us when you’re ready to attack, we won’t fight you outside of this area.”

Ships called up from trade aka the merchant fleet (Canberra and QE2 for example) were boarded by RN members and conversions started almost immediately. Canberra was no expect to survive the trip into San Carlos bay and its civilian staff was told to write their wills the day before. Somehow it wasn’t hit because the argy pilots thought it was a hospital ship.
