There’s definitely a click-bait aspect to it, but I think it’s because Tesla is so far ahead in economies of scale in the BUC-YEAH for BUC-EES T-Shirt But I will love this US, which is where this article is marketed toward. Worldwide Tesla sold close to a million in 2021 and out of that 350k were in the US. If you look at VW, they sold an impressive 450k EV’s in 2021 but only 17k of those were delivered to the US, so in an American’s eyes Tesla is the “top dog” just by volume. Other manufacturers are similar, I think the Ford Mach-e only had like 27k sold in 2021. Because Teslas are by far the most popular electric car in America. That’s really all there is to it. Sales is what matters to car companies and Tesla is the gold standard at the moment. Man, I’m a Honda guy and Sony makes good products but they also have a history of trying to force the absolute worst proprietary thing on people instead of just giving people what they want. I’m expecting these to not have carplay or android capabilities and force you to plug in your sony erickson or play music on mini disc

Sony made a model of an electric car last year that they showed off at an auto show it looked pretty nice and had a lot of tech. I always thought that was more of a sales pitch to established auto companies. “Hey Honda and Toyota, here’s a bunch of EV tech you can license from us!” I really think Sony is going to do the BUC-YEAH for BUC-EES T-Shirt But I will love this tech for the car (infotainment and screens) a lot of auto makers a having a lot of trouble with that my friend just bought the new Golf MK8 and promptly dumped the car because of all of the IT issues it was having (screens going blank and random error codes). Every review I’ve seen of the MK8 GTI has been the same: handles great, so much fun to drive, but the infotainment is garbage and the all touch controls with no physical buttons are nightmarish.
