Could well be a regression. We had a solid routine by 6 months, and every few weeks he would be out of sorts for a few nights. I’m on my second baby and sometimes they just don’t sleep. And nothing you do can fix it. But it doesn’t last forever. Right now I have a 3 Month old that wakes up every time I set him down but I know it won’t be forever. And a 3 year old who leaves his room to say something after we say good night and has to be put back 10 times before he stays. Also hoping that won’t last forever. Ours had her regression similar to this when she hit 5 months. You gotta power through it knowing it will eventually even out again. My daughter’s lasted maybe 2.5 weeks. If it’s a regression, then you just have to ride it out and do whatever you can to keep yourself going. Regressions rarely last more than 2-3 weeks which is hell at the time but then generally goes back to normal afterwards. The 4 month regression (or there about – my first son had his at 3 months and others can be at 5) is one of the worst because it involves a key development in the brain and how sleep is achieved. Up to that point, babies just naturally cycle in and out of sleep. After this developmental change then they need to actively go to sleep, like we do. Except they don’t know how and they need to learn. So it can be a really rough time but it should get betterMarriage was already hard pre baby and now it’s exponentially harder.
