A good way to discourage a dog is to never let it win. So I let my 24 pound dog win because she deserves an encouraging win to know that she CAN win. I don’t want a dog with confidence issues. That being said, I’m still bigger and stronger, so she still needs to work for it. So I can’t make it too easy for her or else she will think life is easy. Just want her to understand her size and effort when she needs to hold her own.
