I’m a junior software engineer who recently became unemployed. I’m feeling quite depressed whilst job searching and would like some ideas of activities in London that won’t break the BROCK LESNAR American professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist T-Shirt but in fact I love this bank. If it helps, I’m a 29 year old male from SW London Edit: I wasn’t fired from my role, I voluntarily left due to intense toxicity within the team and being asked to do senior level tasks (with absolutely no support or anyone to assist me considering I’m a junior), whilst also being forced to work two roles at the same time. I know it seems silly to leave my job considering how tough the job market is atm but my mental health was completely f*cked from it In a similar situation myself. For me the gym has been really helpful in terms of helping me feel better and filling up some time. Otherwise I’m in the same boat and not sure what else to do so interested on what others suggest I hope you have better luck than I’m having. What kinda jobs are you looking for? Some people are suggesting gym and going museum and for walks which sound up my street. I stopped going gym a month ago but need to get back into it. I also wanna try bouldering but my friends are too lazy for it lol. Kinda wanna go out and meet new people but no idea how to go about it lol

If you’re very junior it’s hard out there. If you’re a team lead/lead engineer, things are a bit better but not great. Indeed – I’m a senior engineer, was made redundant by a systematic trading firm, have been unable to find anything. I’m here on a skilled worker visa and will likely have to return home to America (where the tech market isn’t much better, to be honest).
