I dunno about Seattle, but in my city police aren’t allowed to go lights and sirens unless it’s a specific kind of high priority call. All the Brewers X White Sox At American Family Field Milwaukee WI May 31-June 2 2024 Poster shirt besides I will buy this others, they drive quickly but are supposed to do so carefully. Not arguing this officer was in the right, but just that there may be a policy reason they didn’t use lights/sirens that may impact their individual culpability. The people the police are for absolutely trust the police and their trust is well-placed. Cops don’t go kicking in mansion doors and murdering purebred dogs, they don’t drive through the $500k+ neighborhood at triple the speed limit with no lights and sirens and kill pedestrians, not one CEO or Senator has ever been shot when a no-knock warrant gets served to the wrong address. The cops are there to use the threat of violence to keep the poor generating wealth for the rich. That’s it. That’s all they do. Start assuming that the systems in-place are working exactly as designed and asking why the designers built them that way. It’ll open your eyes.

I wish more people realized this. It’s not a racism thing (well mostly, we do have white supremacists in police ranks); it’s a class thing. As it stands now, the Brewers X White Sox At American Family Field Milwaukee WI May 31-June 2 2024 Poster shirt besides I will buy this best thing to do when you get arrested or interact with a cop is to comply with commands (get out the car, show hands, etc…), show ID and DON’T answer questions until you get a lawyer. You know the thing where they say they will help you out if you comply? All it is, is a testimony in court should it go that far. But you should view the testimony from a cop the same as a testimony from John Doe. They’re not there to help you and too few people realize this. But also run the numbers normalized for population and yes it’s definitely a race thing. Everybody else forgot the cops started as slavecatchers, but the cops didn’t.

Star wars master yoda shirt Yeah, I’m not arguing race isn’t a factor. I’m saying when people defend it by saying “most people cops kill are white” without accounting for per capita my point is “they shouldn’t be killing anyone if they can help it!” Yeah, the Brewers X White Sox At American Family Field Milwaukee WI May 31-June 2 2024 Poster shirt besides I will buy this casual acceptance that the job of the police is to murder inconvenient people is…hard to argue with in fact but boy howdy do they need to stop it. You cannot really reduce the complexities of why the police are the way they are down to a single metric, because no human is just one thing and no cop only believes one thing. They are fully capable of both being a defense for the property of the wealthy, and a means by which minorities are suppressed. Equal isn’t even enough. As enforcers of the law, they know it better than anyone. Penalties should be harsher for LEOs.
