Avoid booze. There are zero benefits to drinking. Wish I have never started. You are healthier, you save money and you aren’t missing anything. Just tell people you don’t drink, good people will respect it, and those that dont, you don’t want them around . Don’t do something YOU don’t want to do. However, if you do decide to drink, ask if you can drink with your parents or someone you trust in a low threat environment to get a feel for it. It’s what I did. I learned really quick that 2-3 drinks was acceptable and sometimes enjoyable, 4-6 is borderline, and anything more than that in a night was a mistake. It helps to understand and stick to your own boundaries if you do it in a safe space first.

Don’t let anyone give yiu shit about it. You’ll be missing out on a side of yourself you might really love, but the BRET HART Canadian-American retired professional wrestler T-Shirt and I will buy this downside is that you may love it too much. Im 21 and have been an alcoholic since 18 but started at 14. If i could go back and change one thing about my life it would be to never drink. 3rd day sober today in over a year and hoping to stay clean What’s lame is doing things to appear a different way to others- sticking to who you are or want to be isn’t lame and people who shame you for doing things different to them just show you what a red flag they are as a friend. Be yourself, if you don’t want to drink, don’t; but don’t feel ashamed, it’s actually a strength most people don’t have.
